Lurching Toward the Holy Days

Publisher's Notes

NEW YORK - Full Moon, 5 November, 1998: CONVERGENCE. It's what happens when you let a bunch of brilliant, inquisitive writers have their heads and don't try to be too directive.

I had no idea when I sent RADIO RAHEEM the Washington Post article on the Shaker Heights, IL, school district[See DAY ONE] that what he had to say about Black student academic performance would segue into ADAM J. SMITH's piece this week in ON DRUGS.

Looking at their work, while editing yesterday and today, I saw the effect of the Full Moon leading us (AGAIN!) toward a convergence of themes. The more astute among our readers will see what the farce of the "Welsh Assembly" has to do with the politics of our more American farcicalness.

There's also some wonderful --- dare I say "charming?" --- yucks for you in this Edition. I especially loved Ric Williams contribution to FAX NIKITA. I think you'll enjoy it, too.

ABOUT THIS EDITION: We actually have TEN all-new features for you in this first issue of our Full Moon Edition. It has seemed to me, of late, that each new issue seems to follow the cycles of the moon. Is it just me?

SEA OF DREAMS has a new Contest winner, for example. Enjoy!

MARIE IRSHAD's debut in WELSH TAKES is commendable and informative for those of us on this side of The Pond. POWERSSOUND rocks, as usual.

And you want a soundtrack for this new "album?" Let me recommend the Propellerheads yet again. Wonderful stuff! I can't help but tell you that I needed this kind of Music Therapy for weeks now.

Am I in New York? Is the moon shining down on God's Own Fool and making his dreams almost palpable? Stay tuned, Kiddie-Os.

Thanks for coming back this week.

We're glad you're here. We have a lot to offer this(and EVERY) week. Stick around. More importantly: TELL EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOUR FRIENDS. We want you here EVERY DAY.

WHY?

Because we like you....

Be Good to Each Other,
Rod
