RDR Logo. New Orleans, LA, USA - Talk about your motley krewes! The band leader and lead singer, the infamous Boo LaCrosse, is wearing a lacey blouse unbuttoned and making double entrendre jokes between songs. Under his lovely blouse, he sports a dark bra and a pair of antennae with bouncing fury balls wobbles above his head as he belts out butt-shakin' rock 'n' roll like nobody's business. You gottah love this band, and chicks on the dance floor obviously do.

But we're confused already. Which incarnation of LaCrosse's rock 'n' roll madness are we witnessing this time? He has three. Is this "The Boo LaCrosse Experience", "Creatures of Habit" or his new band "Fat Cock"? Festooned around the bar are pictures of a rooster emblazoned above the words "CHICKS LOVE FAT COCK." Oh-oh! G21 caught up with bandleader Boo LaCrosse at Buffa's on Esplanade Avenue in New Orleans the next evening. What follows is a rough transcript of our interview.

Image of a guitar. G21: We enjoyed your debut show at Checkpoint Charlie's last night. Tell us about the band.

BOO LACROSSE: Which one? I got three. There's the Boo LaCrosse Band, Creatures of Habit, and Fat Cock. You can find out more about the Boo LaCrosse band and e-mail us at BooLaCrosse.com.

G21: Well, I believe we saw "Creatures of Habit." Do you plan to tour with that or any of the other bands.

BOO LACROSSE: We don't now, but we plan to. Right now we're strictly a New Orleans band. If people want to see us, we'll be playing here at Buffa's on Bastille Day, July 14th. And make sure your readers don't confuse us with the San Francisco band, Creatures of the Habit. Those guys suck. (Laughs)

G21: This interview will be coming out the day after. But I'll try to make that show. So tell me about the new band. Why did you decide to call it Fat Cock?

BOO LACROSSE: We were going to call it Obese Rooster, but Fat Cock rolls off a chick's tongue much better.

Besides, all the members of the bands, we're all in other bands, too. We started Creatures of Habit to take the pressure off the other bands. To have some fun. We picked all the songs for the humor in the lyrics. All the songs are original compositions with that band. We did everything with Creatures to try to make people, and ourselves, happy . I mean, who can listen to more than 45 mintues of Fat Cock?

G21: Do you have an album out?

BOO LACROSSE: Our first album is coming out now. This will be our breakout album, as they say. Tell me something, what do you keep poultry in?

G21: You tell us.

BOO LACROSSE: Most people I know keep poultry in a crate. So the album's gonnah be called "Fat Cock in a Tight Box." (Grins.) If we run into personnel problems, like most bands do, we'll change the title to "Fat Cock in a Deep Rut."

G21: So what's the concept behind all this poultry and happiness?

BOO LACROSSE: It's really about the poultry. We're trying to promote free range chickens.

G21: Yeah, right.

BOO LACROSSE: Really. It's not like most bands. It's not about getting all the pussy and drugs we can. We're about the chickens. Everybody has to have their political bent. Ane we're really bent.

[NOTE: We take a break because somebody calls the bar to ask when the band will be performing next. Boo takes the call to tell them about the Bastille Day gig.]

G21: So what will people find on your Web site?

BOO LACROSSE: Definitely tell your readers to go to BooLaCrosse. com. Once they go there they can download free MP3s of our music, e-mail us, and get any news about upcoming gigs we have planned. It's a lot of fun! They'll like it.

G21: Any thing else you want to tell us?

BOO LACROSSE: Seriously, this is about the fun. We already were having fun before anybody ever heard us. The main point is that we all have other bands and jobs that pay our bills. So we don't want the band to be about any of that. This time we need to do it for the music.

The music on our terms. It's unadulterated and its pure. The poultry is what makes the performance with this band. But it's flat-out for the music. That's the main thing I can say. Period.

So, in this case, the money doesn't matter. If people come out to hear us they'll get that great music clothed in this hilarious pretext which makes it more fun and more funny. In other words, inside of Fat Cock is pure protein.
