RDR Logo. NEW YORK, NY, USA - I love all these Hollywood celebrities who have been getting together and announcing they are "For Peace." I guess walking around Tinseltown saying you are "For War" just doesn't land you those A roles. I also guess a lot of these celebrities didn't come up with this "For Peace" movement on their own. They probably had to check with their agent first who recommended it because of all the free publicity. After all who is not going to like someone who is "For Peace"? It reminded me of an election I saw where a Sheriff ran a commercial that he was "Against Crime." Unfortunately simplistic sayings like "I'm against crime" don't end the crime problem if you do not have a sensible plan to back it up. The same could be said about being "For Peace".

One of the reasons that these celebrities feel they are "For Peace" is because they believe the United States should not got to war with Iraq. But is that really being "For Peace" ? After all, Saddam is on the verge of having nuclear weapons. Do they think he wants them for defensive purposes? This may answer the historians' age old question of "What would Hitler have done if he had had nuclear weapons?" Saddamn is as close as you get today because he has the same mentality just not the army and weapons to back it up yet.

While people may not agree with a pre-emptive strike just think again if we had done the same when Hitler first started on his conquest. Sure there may have unfortunately been a few lives lost but nowhere near the total of fifty five million for World War Two. So while avoiding war with Saddamn now may save some lives now eventually it can lead to a catastrophic war with untold casualties.

One of the sayings I believe in is "Do unto others as you would have done unto you, just do it to them first." There is no doubt in my mind that if Saddamn had nuclear weapons he would be threatening us with them. If North Korea is making threats for oil with its nuclear weapons, can you imagine what Saddam's going to ask for? That's why it would be best to strike now before he can inflict major damage on the rest of the world.

I do not mean to suggest that we should use nuclear weapons on the people of Iraq. As a matter of fact they should be avoided at all costs because our war is with Saddam Hussein not the people of Iraq. Anyone who thinks the people of Iraq have any problem with the U.S should look at the Gulf War. During that war our army's main problem was that too many Iraqi soldiers were surrendering to them at once. They did not know what to do. It's not that these Iraqi soldiers were cowards but they had no problem with the U.S. and knew it was not worthwhile to die for the insane delusions of the tyrannical dictator Saddam Hussien. That's why I do not think the Iraqi people would even miss the loss of Saddam.

Once Saddam is gone the people of Iraq can become like any normal Arab country that lives off its oil and hates the Jews. (The hating Jews part we can work on if we can settle the Middle East crisis.) But that's a lot better of than a country that is on the brink of war. However this article is not really about Saddamn Hussein, it's about how these celebrities think being "for peace" brings peace. I think if a few of these celebrities started playing historical figures in movies that would start to learn more. There are too many of them playing Batman and not enough Winston Churchill. If they played Churchill they would know that before World War Two we were in the same situation. The whole world wanted peace so Neville Chamberlain signed a peace agreement with Hitler. However Churchill knew that to Chamberlain this meant peace but to Hitler it was merely a piece of paper.

I really wouldn't mind a lot of these celebrities if they were being truthful to their cause of anti-war but they're not. When President Clinton bombed both Iraq and the former Yugoslavia they were quieter than Chevy Chase's film career. So it would seem this is more political than ideological. They claim this will be another war like Vietnam. However Vietnam was a civil war what Saddam wants to fight is a war against civilization.

While any war should not be taken lightly it appears to me to be the best decision. While some may accuse me of being "For War," I think I'm "for peace." Because only by getting rid of this menace Saddam can we have peace. That is until we have to deal with North Korea.
